FFT 1 Skills Workshops
Avenza-Set up--
Everyone should have Avenza
Everyone should know how to effortlessly report their location
by coordinates of latitude and longitude
Multiple crew members should have the latest fire's maps on their devices
FFT 1's must be proficient in teaching the crew how to get
QR maps from IAPs and download from the Avenza Store
FFT1's must be able to teach the crew how to use the tracking tools on Avenza
EVERYONE must be oriented to the area ALWAYS, and know where to go in case of getting separated or some other emergency event
Paper map use is obviously still required
FFT1s also need to know how to use Township,Range,Section... "Legal" directions
Navigating to a new assignment location is a critical skill. More people on each crew with these skills stregthens a crew in many ways.
